With this production of Benjamin Britten's opera Owen Wingrave, projection was tapped to bring the Wingrave family's haunted mansion to life as well as to visually engage in the pacifist themes that Jim Petosa (the stage director) was working to explore. Content was created from myriad composed archival sources of war footage along with original illustrations and 3D animation. The more specific projections were on a large rear-projection screen upstage of the set and more textural imagery, evocative of Owen's struggles with his conscience and his ancestor's ghosts, were mapped onto 25 columns that flew into different configurations.
