The projection designer is artistically responsible for stage design that is either projected or displayed with equipment commonly associated with projection design such as projectors, LED screens and monitors.  He or she conceives the visual language that employs projected imagery, still or moving in collaboration with the creative team. Such imagery can be original, compiled from other sources, contain live video capture or be a combination. He or she also specifies the equipment and tools best suited for the technical realisation of the conceived design and oversees the the artistic and technical implementation of the design in the theatre.
